
The Jewish Association of The Philippines hosted a Wine & Cheese Movie Night featuring Quezon’s Game.
Danny Weissler, son of Max Weissler was visiting The Philippines for the first time. He visited the Synagogue and toured the areas of Manila that his father spoke about.
During President Rodrigo Duterte’s term, at the Open Door Monument in Rishon LeZion, Max Weissler met the former President and conversed with him in fluent Tagalog.
Quezon’s Game which was directed by Matthew Rosen is a biographical drama which tells the story of Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon, Alex Frieder, Dwight D Eisenhower, and US High Commissioner Paul McNutt and their plan to save German and Austrian Jews from the Holocaust and bring them to The Philippines.
During the event Wine from imported from Israel and Cheese brought from the USA was served to a fully packed Social Hall. The Social Hall was converted into a Movie Theater and a large screen was rented to display the movie.

Israel Ambassador Ilan Fluss, Canadian Ambassador David Hartman and Brazilian Ambassador Gilberto Fonseca Guimarães de Moura, were all in attendance.

Israeli Ambassador Ilan Fluss gave short remarks along with Canadian Ambassador David Hartman. Afterwards Matthew Rosen spoke about the film and finally Danny Weissler spoke about his father's experience.
